Rihanna's rep says, rumors of the two collaborating on a song called 'Broken Heels' are 'not true.'
By James Montgomery
Sad news for anyone eager to hear that rumored Rihanna/Lady Gaga collaboration: It's not happening.
That's according to a rep for RiRi, who told MTV News on Friday (October 15) that a story about a team-up between the two artists — reportedly on a song called "Broken Heels" — was "not true."
Earlier this week, reports began circulating that the two talents — who, between them, have more #1s on Billboard's Pop Chart than any other artist — would be joining forces on "Heels," which was set to be featured on Rihanna's forthcoming album Loud. The source for those reports was an alleged scan of the album's back cover, which listed the song as "featuring Lady Gaga."
The rep didn't say anything about that image to MTV, but Just Jared quotes a rep for Rihanna as saying that it's a fake. A spokesperson for Rihanna's label, Island/Def Jam, did not respond to MTV News' request for comment on the matter.
Loud is scheduled to hit stores on November 16, and it does feature confirmed guest appearances from Drake (on a remix of "What's My Name?") and Nicki Minaj (on a "fun ... quirky" song called "Raining Men"). On Wednesday (October 13), Rihanna premiered the video for "Only Girl (in the World)," the official first single from the album. "Only Girl" is in its fifth week on the Billboard Hot 100, where it sits at #6.

Image of forthcoming album's back cover allegedly leaks online, contains collaboration called "Broken Heels."

Separately, Rihanna and Lady Gaga have tallied more #1s on the Billboard Pop Songs chart than any other artists, so you can probably imagine what would happen if they were ever to team up on a track.
Well, forget about the imagine part. From the looks of things, RiRi and Gaga are joining forces on Rihanna's upcoming album Loud.
This is according to what appears to be the official track listing for Loud, which was revealed in a scan of its back cover that began making the rounds Wednesday (October 13).
That track listing contains a song called "Broken Heels," on which Gaga is featured. Other cameos on the album include Rihanna's almost-tourmate Nicki Minaj (on a track called "Raining Men") Will.I.Am ("Bubble Pop") and — confirming earlier reports — Drake, who guests on "What's My Name?"
It's all very exciting. But is any of it actually real? Well, it bears noting that all of the tracks mentioned in Just Jared's early review of the album ("S&M," "Cheers," "Man Down," "California King (Bed)," "Fading Away" and "Raining Men") do show up on the back cover in question ... but it also bears noting that the ballad "Straight Up Beautiful," which Rihanna herself mentioned just last week, does not.
Fans will have to wait until November 12, when Loud hits stores, to find out for sure. At press time, a spokesperson for Rihanna had not responded to MTV News' request for comment on the Gaga collaboration.
Are you excited about the possibility of Rihanna collaborating with Lady Gaga? Let us know in the comments!

Bieber freestyles over Cam'ron and Vado's 'Speakin Tongues,' declaring his rap alter ego is Shawty Mane.

Having given fans a taste of his rapping skills during live performances of "Baby" when he tackles the verse Ludacris recorded for the tune, Justin Bieber is now displaying his keen spitting prowess in a new video posted on his Twitter. In the grainy clip titled "Speaking in Tongues," Bieber raps his own lyrics over Cam'ron and Vado's "Speakin Tongues," and in a message posted on the webpage, he announced that his rap alias is Shawty Mane.
"Speaking in tongues freestyle... who knew I could rap lol," he wrote. "My alter ego rap name is Shawty Mane... hah."
The video features shots of Bieber in the studio and hanging out in the streets rocking some glasses. Early on, he gives a shout-out to Lady Gaga: "Call up Lady Gaga on my on my telephone/ Hello doll/ You're my girl/ Beats no metronome."
He then talks up his own capabilities, rhyming, "So I'm raptor/ Tearing it up like a tractor/ Matter fact you're not feeling this track, you're a slacker." Later, he raps, "Stop, drop and roll/ Justin Bieber's on fire/ It's time to realize it's time to call me young sire."
At the end of the clip, Bieber — who hangs out with such hip-hop heavyweights as Drake, Kanye West and the aforementioned Luda — has a little message for those listening to the track. "You guys might know me as the guy who sings 'Baby'/ You know, uh, I'm a singer, pop singer/ I'm white/ But, um, you know I just wanted to do this just to prove that/ You know I got skills, on, on, on the rap game."
Last December, Bieber's pal, rapper Asher Roth, defended his buddy's rapping skills to MTV News. "He lived like a block away from me. Watching him is like watching your little brother. It's crazy," Roth said, referring to their time in Atlanta together. "He can rap. I put him on a remix, but I don't think his mom would like that very much."
What do you think of Bieber's lyrical skills? Talk about it in the comments!

Eight Mile Style LLC says it's still owed $2.2 million for downloads after last year's case.

Eminem's music publisher says the rapper is owed more than $2 million in download dollars, which the company is asking a U.S. District Court judge to help collect.
In a request filed in Detroit last week, Eight Mile Style LLC requested that the court enforce a settlement reached last year in a lawsuit against Apple that alleged the company never received proper permission to make Eminem songs available for download through iTunes. According to the Detroit News, the terms of that settlement were never made public, but apparently totaled more than $2.2 million, including attorney fees.
The central issue of the original suit was whether a record deal between Aftermath and an Eminem representative gave copyright licenses to the rapper's music, and allowed for digital downloads through iTunes. The Associated Press reports that Em's music publisher claimed that Apple made $2.5 million through iTunes downloads of his songs; the company also sought to get a share of Apple's profits from the sale of iPods. The suit also alleged that Aftermath wrongfully collected $4 million from the download of Eminem's songs. In October 2009, following a brief trial, Eight Mile Style and Apple reached a settlement in the case.
And now, the music publisher says, it's time to collect. It's not known just who owes Em the cash, but as the Detroit News points out, the only two defendants in the case are Apple and Aftermath Records.
MTV News' e-mails to representatives for Eminem and Apple seeking comment on the suit were not responded to by press time.
