Season 2 finalist Julia DeMato celebrates her birthday today. The Connecticut cosmetologist entered the Idol scene with strong performances.
Julia sang in the first group of semifinalists on Season 2 and was the first female to advance to the finals due to her performance of Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man." In the finals, Julia performed "Where Did Our Love Go," "What A Feeling," and "Breathe." She fell into the bottom three contestants the first two weeks but escaped elimination long enough to make it to tenth place. Since she made it to the Top 10, Julia got to spend a few months touring around the nation with the rest of the Top 10.
Last April, Julia joined fellow Idol alumni Ace Young, Diana DeGarmo, Jorge Nez, and RJ Helton lend a helping hand to hungry New Yorkers by delivering food with City Harvest. They volunteered with Feeding America in honor of Idol Gives Back.
Now days, Julia spends her time as a mother to her son James Peter.
Happy Birthday, Julia!
